FAQ

Can I use MX records from multiple forwarders?

Why you cannot use MX records from multiple forwarders with ImprovMX.

It might seem like a good idea to have MX records for multiple email services for redundancy or failover purposes.

Unfortunately, ImprovMX doesn't support having multiple services' MX records set for a single domain at one time. The reason for this is due to quite a few delivery issues this poses with ImprovMX. Mail often ignores priority which subsequently causes email drops and delivery failures with our service. Thus, we currently require having only ImprovMX MX records set for your domain while utilizing ImprovMX to forward mail.

You may still configure your domain in this manner, and as long as ImprovMX processes at least one piece of mail on a weekly/monthly basis, your domain should continue to operate on the service. However, we cannot troubleshoot delivery issues and you may receive notices to the effect of your domain not being set up properly.
