Dashboard shows forwarding inactive, but emails are delivered
A stale DNSSEC setting is usually the cause.
If your records look correct and mail is flowing, but the dashboard still shows "Email forwarding needs setup", the cause is usually a stale DNSSEC setting left over from a DNS provider migration.
Stale DNSSEC records fail validation on some resolvers, so the dashboard can't confirm setup. Mail still reaches the resolvers that aren't checking, which is why it looks like it's working.
How to fix it
- Log in to your domain registrar (where you bought the domain).
- Find the DNSSEC settings and turn DNSSEC off.
- Wait a few minutes, then click Check on your ImprovMX dashboard.
The dashboard should flip green once the change propagates. If it doesn't after 24 hours, reach out to our support team.
