How Does Priority Delivery Work?
When using ImprovMX, incoming emails are first received by our servers and then processed for forwarding according to your domain settings. This ensures we can perform necessary checks (such as SPF, DKIM, and DMARC validation), apply any configured rules or aliases, and then forward the messages to your chosen destination addresses.
For users on our free plan, these emails are placed into a shared processing queue. Depending on overall traffic at a given time, this may result in a small delay—typically only a few seconds, but under heavy load, it could occasionally take longer.
What Is Priority Delivery?
Priority Delivery is a feature included with all premium ImprovMX subscriptions. It ensures that any emails forwarded to your domain are placed at the front of the queue, ahead of non-premium users. This means:
• Faster forwarding: Your emails are processed and delivered with minimal delay.
• More predictable performance: Especially valuable if you rely on email for time-sensitive communication or transactional messages.
• Better handling under load: During high traffic periods (such as large-scale email events or external mail delays), your emails will still be prioritised.
Do I Need Priority Delivery?
For most personal or casual use, the standard queue is fast enough. But if you:
• Run a business and depend on quick email turnaround
• Use ImprovMX for customer support or transactional emails
• Want to ensure your forwarding remains fast even during spikes in traffic
… then upgrading to a premium plan with Priority Delivery can offer meaningful improvements in performance and reliability.
Is There a Guarantee on Speed?
While we cannot guarantee an exact delivery time (due to factors outside our control such as destination mail server responsiveness), Priority Delivery ensures that ImprovMX will never be the bottleneck for your email speed. We process and hand off your messages to your destination provider as fast as technically possible.
How Can I Get Priority Delivery?
Priority Delivery is automatically enabled when you upgrade to any of our premium plans. You don’t need to configure anything—once your domain is added to a premium account, it benefits from priority queuing automatically.
