As an email forwarding service, we do handle incoming emails and we could read them, big data analyze them, sell them to third parties or anything you could think of.
There is just one issue with that … we like to sleep well.
Unfortunately, we can’t prove to you that we aren’t evil so maybe this article will shed some light on our philosophy.
First of all, every email that we receive is saved locally waiting to be forwarded. As soon as they are either delivered or hard bounced, we delete them.
When we process them, we save a few data points related to these emails in order to be able to help our users debug issues that might occur. These data points include:
And for each event, the following:
These logs are stored on our database for a period of 7 days, then automatically deleted. Since they are used only for helping you in case you have any issues, we don’t need to store them for later than 7 days, that’s why they are automatically deleted.
We never ever log the content of the emails we forward.
The data we log is used only to ensure that our service is working well. The logs are accessed only when you reach out to us and help us identify why an email wouldn’t be forwarded. For this reason, after a period of 7 days, we delete the email as we believe there is no need to keep them longer.
We like to be able to look ourselves in the mirror. We are not here to resell your data or manipulate it — we make money selling premium memberships that increase attachment size, allow more aliases per domain names, and deliver faster emails in a separate infrastructure.
